The Bahamian students on the Northern Caribbean University main campus will get an opportunity to cast their votes in the upcoming elections 2017 in the Bahamas.

This will be possible as representatives from the Bahamian Consul were present on the university campus on Friday to facilitate the voter registration process.

“We are simply catering to all the Bahamian citizens living outside the country so they can have a voice in the election process,” said Mrs Alveta Adderley-Knight, Honorary Consul of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in Jamaica.

She says this is not the first time that the Bahamian government has enacted the Parliamentary Elections Act (Section 15) which allows citizens living abroad to register to vote.

Several students were registered in the recently held exercise.
