In keeping with the international observance of Nutrition Week as part of Nutrition Month, The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences at Northern Caribbean University (NCU) is delighted to present its 6th staging of Nutrition Week. This year’s theme is “Put Your Best Fork Forward” and NCU will host its activities from March 20 to 22.

Nutrition Week 2017 promises to exceed all expectations with presentations from registered dietitians and nutritionists. Other features include booths displays, food demonstrations, blood testing, nutrition assessments, counselling sessions and blood pressure checks.

Programme Coordinator and Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences said the theme reflects the fact that each individual has d the tools to make better food choices. This she says will ultimately lead to a healthier life.

She added that the activities to be held will focus on increasing public awareness on diet and nutrition and will emphasise the importance of making informed choices and developing sound eating and physical habits. She further stated that “eating healthy doesn’t mean changing your diet overnight, but gradually balancing choices to suit individual nutritional needs. “

The event is open to the general public and all are invited.
