Photographic Highlights:Villa Road Primary's Peer Counselling Pinning and Certification Ceremony

Recently, Northern Caribbean University, through the Department of Behavioural Sciences, facilitated the training of 15 Peer Counsellors at the Villa Road Primary School.

The students were trained by final year Guidance Counselling student, Rohan Green, who completed the activity as part of the requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Guidance Counselling degree programme.

The students which were students from grades four and five, were certified as peer counsellors at the end of the training with a Peer Counselling Pinning and Certification Ceremony held in December 2016.

The areas covered in the training were:

  •          Self-esteem
  •          Anxiety
  •          Stress and Depression
  •          Conflict Management
  •          Anger Management
  •          Communication
  •          Respect and Disrespect
  •          Grief and Loss
  •          Choosing the right role model
  •          Goal Setting
  •          Bullying
