The Fall Week of Prayer 2010 was truly
a blessing to many as the curtains came down with 21 persons surrendering their
lives to God. The event which was guided under the theme, “He is on His Way,”
was held from September 24 to October 2, 2010 on the Northern Caribbean
University (NCU) Mandeville Campus. While it rained for most days
outside the Gymnatorium, there were also showers of blessings on the inside. The
nine days in the Gymnatorium were transformed by Pentecostal power into spiritual
bliss.

Church Pastor and Speaker for the
event, Pastor Michael Harvey was not short on delivering the end time message
to the keen and captivated audience. He reminded students that they needed to
have a spiritual connection with God, and that that connection was imperative since
“education and redemption are one.” “If
we have God in our lives,” he continued, “the society we live in would be a
better one.”

Week of Prayer was more than another calendar
event, for the NCU family it was a spiritual refreshing. Kerry-Ann Bercher, a
second year Mass Communications student posited, “it was a very soul
stirring and spirit filled experience. It was evident that it really touched
and reached out to the students in a way that led them to the altar and
ultimately to baptism.”

The Week of Prayer is held biannually and it serves to facilitate the
birth of a relationship with Christ and to motivate believers to grow more in
Christ. Therefore, the week of spiritual emphasis encourages a higher level of
spirituality among students,
faculty, staff, affiliates, and by extension the community.
